The Award Winning With These Hands offers young people a fresh approach to learning and life skills through creative arts and music technology. Our program provides underserved youth with conflict resolution education, cultural awareness, academic accountability and service projects through regular program meetings and corporate as well as community partnerships. We also foster exposure to the entertainment business by providing our students with educational, experiential and entrepreneurial opportunities in the industry.
With These Hands Mix Academy is the first of its kind in the Charlotte region. We are the first step for students in learning about and gaining experience in the music industry by way of disc jockeying and digital music production. Our program offers a fresh approach to learning by giving young adults the opportunity to overcome limitations and expand their horizons within the entertainment industry. With These Hands not only focuses on disc jockeying and digital music creation, it also teaches practical life skills and professional etiquette.
With These Hands firmly believes in supporting our community and we display this by first investing into the lives of our community’s young people. We aim to maximize every student’s opportunity for success. Upon completion several students may be offered a position as interns within our organization. This gives them immediate access to clients and functions that would otherwise take years to acquire. It also helps them perfect their skills while becoming acclimated to the industry. We are an organization that is dedicated to seeing young people commit to their dreams. Our mission is to plan successful outcomes—one student at a time.
The reality of today’s society indicates that young people are less likely to pursue their dreams because they have no hope of ever reaching them. It is imperative that youth find outlets that positively reinforce their goals and ambitions. Not every student is an athlete or a exceptionally talented scholar. With These Hands will encourage its students to explore nontraditional means of extracurricular activity. We promote self-awareness through various activities that will help students discover their gifts while fostering creativity.
When students realize the talents they actually have, they will begin to understand who they are and what they have the potential to become. We encourage clear communication with students and their immediate families to ensure that the principles taught here are being used at home and at school. Gaining support in their families further secures their promising future. With These Hands helps students set and reach realistic personalized goals that will put them on the path toward their destiny.
